It is a factory 290 4 speed black on black car that was ordered new & raced by Craig Stahl of Stahl AMC in Derby Ct. Black was not one of the AMX colors in 1968 but was made available as a special order with a $54.00 surcharge. .

1968 amc amx. 390 "go pack", 4 speed, x code, twin grip diff, quick ration power steering, power disc brakes, rally wheels, tilt column, tinted glass, reclining seats. Runs and drives strong, no casting numbers on block, but factory 390 x code car. Some minor cosmetic blemishes and minor dings. Solid trunk, floors, frame rails, shock towers and inner wheel wells.
